Jetty Rehabilitation

Splash Zone
The splash zone is, without doubt, one of the more aggressive environments for concrete and/or steel. Here you have the movement of the water-inducing wear on the structures, high level of oxygen inducing a perfect corrosive environment.

In saltwater, chlorides are present all over but combined with good access to oxygen this zone is where the problem is. In icy regions, ice sliding by a structure will tear and wear the structure. In the case of wood pillars, wood will usually rot over time, leading to the insufficient load-bearing capacity of the pillars.

LBM UHPC Ultra-High-Performance Concrete is due to its extremely high strength and the absence of pores the ideal material for concrete and steel construction that are strongly attacked by corrosion or rotting again to return to their old or much better load capacity. LBM UHPC is absolutely saltwater resistant and surpasses concrete, steel, and wood in the expected service life many times over. LBM UHPC can also be processed underwater.

Approximately 70% of its rated strength is reached within 48 hours. So in a very short time, the jetty construction can be fully loaded again.

LBM UHPC can be pumped easily. Depending on the pump capacity, several piles can be cast in parallel.

Rehabilitation of concrete, steel, and wood structures:

LBM UHPC as grout is an ideal protection layer. Splash zone protection is in general made on pillars standing in water and is made by creating a mold around the pillar and casting the LBM UHPC grout into the mold.

When the LBM UHPC has set the mold can be removed. LBM UHPC creates an extremely good adhesion, and seal and can penetrate much better in any crack, rip, gap than any other concrete quality.

Precast elements for piers:

With LBM UHPC the decanting times can be drastically reduced. Because of the high strength of well over 130 MPa/18850 psi. A high load-bearing capacity with a small material cross-section can be achieved.
